Shop Update :)

Happy Thursday to all!
Hmf, well I am not too :) with myself today. I wanted to get a how-to up today, but I couldn't find my pliers! (And they are absolutely necessary for the project!)
Now I'm all for chaotic organization, where to the outward, untrained eye things seems to be a mess but YOU know where everything is. But alas, when even YOU cannot find your basic supplies, it's time for a clean up!
So I had to settle for just doing one of these today...

~*~*~ SHOP UPDATE!!! ~*~*~

So amble on over to the le shoppe for a gander if you please, or just tell me what you think!

The picture styling is done on my metal rose curtain hook, which I got from Delia's years ago because they match the little embroidered flowers on my curtains.

Don't you think so?
But alas, it is not appreciated in this mess, so I better get cracking...

EtsyMini Blog

Well I had planned to feature something else today as well as update the shop but I never got the feedback I needed and ended up having a change of events anyway. I'm not feeling up to much so it's just as well.
Recently some volunteers have taken it upon themselves to start up a blog featuring Etsy-Minis by category. Saves time and it's very organized, clean and eye catching, so you can look under whatever category you wish and see 4 featured items of that shop. Go
here to take a peek, it's called the EtsyMini blog. While Etsy itself has many interesting ways to browse, I don't think they've developed anything like this where you can browse shops by category.
We are featured in the jewelry section under the category
strung and knotted.
One of my favorite features is that the blog itself is run by volunteers, and if you to go to "Recommendations" on the right column under "
Picked by Etsy sellers" you can see the favorite items of those volunteers.
If you are an Esty seller and would like your mini featured scroll down the right column under "Information for Esty Sellers" for terms of use and more information.

Happy hunting and happy weekends!

My Latest

Okay, yes, I updated the shop today, added a new set of Soft Pink Pearls, but technically this isn't a shop update because, weeell, I was just really proud of the pictures I took today :") and it gave me a new idea for tips!
First I re-did the pix of the True Blue set:

And this is the lastest addition, the Soft Pink Pearls set:

The illustrations are from The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, published by Wordsworth Classics and illustrated by Charles Robinson and Lawrie Taylor. I love how the artwork was so conducive to displaying the jewelry.

So this is my tip of the day! I think this is a good idea for someone who is looking for more interesting ways to photograph their work. The background can be busy, but make sure your item is plain; and vice versa, I don't think this would work if your item is very detailed and intricate, but perhaps a plainer background or something more uniform.

A few notes:

  • Make sure the artwork highlights and brings the eye towards your items. A good way to do this is with curves and angles.

  • Pay attention to the illustration and find the focal points. In my case, the characters are either looking at a specific point or indicating towards a space, so that is where I put my items.

Best wishes and happy photographing!

Shop Update :)

~*~*~ SHOP UPDATE!!! ~*~*~
Greetings to all!
As we wrap up our weekends (hopefully everyone enjoyed restful and pleasant ones!) I'd like to mention that I have updated the shop with more of my sister's gems.
Here are a few peeks at the recently listed sets...

As well as those coming soon...

As you can see they are mostly glass pearl sets, very nice if I do say so myself. Sweet and traditional but in unexpected colors. Drop by the shop for a peek at these gems if you have a chance!

A bit about us

Greetings to everyone! I hope you all are having a lovely creative day.

I thought I'd take the opportunity to talk a little more about my shop on etsy, which is now long over due for an update! :")
Right now it is just jewlery, handmade goodies my sister makes. Her goal is to make bright shiny baubles that are unique, pretty, and make you happy just looking at them.
She makes every piece by hand and all are designed by her imagination.

She often wears her own creations and can testify to their sturdiness, so although they are delicate, they are not flimsy. (But please do not try to wear a necklace strand as a bracelet!)

Her inspriations are shiny pretty things and candy colors.I will try to update the shop soon, and add more items other than jewelry. Unfortunately it seems to be slow go, as I am new to this blogging and internet shop world. I don't think I've ever been aware of what it is possible to do these days! And I've never used the internet as much as I've used it now. It is a powerful tool indeed. I only hope for modest success though, learning how to use these tools and using them well.So please be patient with me because I promise more goodies are to come, and please check back often for shop updates and new creative ideas in this blog.

Have a happy day!
